About 2 years ago, I was hanging around the house, looking for something to do. I sat down and turned on the Xbox, launched a game and within 5 minutes, decided this wasn’t what I wanted to do. So, I loaded another one, and another one, then another one… you can see the pattern, here. Basically I loaded about five or six games I thought, I wanted to play. In the end, I only wanted a small something from them. Eventually, in my boredom, I decided showering would be the best option at that moment. While I was in the shower, I remember thinking to myself, “Man, I wish some-guy would make some game with something like this game combined with that game, and this one and that one too. That would be one freaking awesome game…” As I proceeded to wash my hair, I could virtually hear the voice inside my head screaming, “Wait a second; I AM SOME GUY!!!” and within seconds I had jumped out of the shower, wrapped myself in a towel and began writing the rules for a board game. By the time Kat had come home from work (asking why I was in a towel at 7:00pm), I had the basic structure for what today is known as, “Shadow Royale: The Magister’s Cup”. For the rest of that weekend, I spent my time at the local board game cafe, Hravarna; brainstorming, envisioning and revising the basic structure– and I loved every minute of it.

Hi Matt,
I had the chance to play the demo of your game at SPIEL 2019 in essen. Me and all my friends that were on the table shared the opinion afterwards that it was the coolest experience we had at SPIEL 2019 and if you already had a version to buy we definitely would have bought a copy or two. We are now looking forward to your kickstarter campaign and keep our fingers crossed that it is successful. We hope your vision becomes true. Best wishes. Ben (the guy who kept rolling sixes in close combat with his girlfriend)
